What Normfluss does not do
- Signed PDFs are not rewritten: saving one would break its signature, so we say so before anything changes, and nothing is charged. A file that carries only usage rights, not an author signature, can go ahead if you choose.
- Reading order is not reordered automatically. When we tag a PDF, the order follows the page layout; we do not verify it, and a person records a judgement on it.
- Alt text is not applied without a person: every automatic draft waits until someone accepts or edits it.
- No PDF/UA-2. veraPDF 1.30.2 ships a profile for it; we have not implemented it.
- No Section 508 claim.
- No self-hosted deployment: Normfluss runs as a cloud service with EU-resident processing.
- Missing fonts and broken Unicode mapping are not fixed by us: we say which font, and how to fix it in the program that made the PDF.
