Normfluss uses automation, including AI models, as part of the platform. This page explains where AI is used, what it does, and the safeguards around it — so you can make informed decisions about the documents you process.
Where AI is used
The platform uses a vision-language model to draft suggested alt-text for images inside a document. This is the main AI-assisted step. Structural remediation (tags, reading order, tables) is rule-based automation, not generative AI.
AI suggestions are never auto-accepted
Every AI-generated alt-text is presented as a suggestion for a human to confirm or edit in the guided editor before it is written into the document. The platform never signs an evidence record attesting to alt-text a person did not review — a machine cannot self-certify description quality.
Data handling for AI steps
The vision-language model that drafts alt-text runs on Normfluss's own EU-resident infrastructure — not a third-party AI provider. Your documents' images and text are never sent to an external model, and are never used to train any model. This keeps the confidential documents you process inside our infrastructure, consistent with our data-residency commitments (see Privacy Policy).
Limitations
AI-generated suggestions can be wrong or incomplete. They are a starting point to speed up human review, not a substitute for it. You remain responsible for the final content of any document you publish.
